Default V&H Straight shot slip ons

I have an '06 Heritage Softail classic and was told by two different people that all I had to do was install these slip ons without any other mods or adjustments. I'm planning to put these on the bike tomorrow, any comments?

If you have NOT changed anything and your only going with the slipons then you will be fine. The bike is running lean from the factory, but slipons only will not create a problem.......I did the same with mine. However, you will enjoy it a lot more if or when you do the stage 1 and some type of fuel management system. Put 'em on and enjoy it.
Good luck

Like the previous person said, if you leave the stock air cleaner on, it shouldn't change the Air Fuel Ratio enough to create a major issue, but I would, if I were you finish the job and do the air cleaner and a Power Commander, or SERT or TMAX or something so you have the bike dyno tuned or atleast a canned map.

I'm expecting my slip ons next week, as well as the Nightrider IEDs that I'm gonna stick with for now. I do plan on an AC and probably a fuelpak in the near future.

I love them on my bike with the quiet baffles.

Just installed the VH straight shots on my 07 Street Bob, noticed low end power loss. This may sound crazy but I added to the front end of the baffle with 2" exaust tubing and welded a couple of 2" flat washers cut in half, it worked! got the power back and its only loud when you crack the throttle.
