Confusion over Cobra Dragsters

Confusion over Cobra Dragsters
Recently, there's been some confusion over Cobra Dragsters part numbers 6816 and 6817 for 06-08 Dynas. Apparently, all onine retailers list part number 6816 for 06 and 07 Dynas- some even list 6816 up to the 08s. However, on CobraUSA.com it lists part number 6817 for 06-08 Dynas. There is no listing for a 6816.
After having contacted Cobra a few times via email, a few of us received different answers as to why this is and what the difference is between the two part numbers.
First, we were told that it had to do with the O2 sensor bungs- part number 6817 having them and part number 6816 NOT having them. This didn't make sense, however, and more inquiries were made to Cobra about the issue and numbering.
Mark Lance from CobraUSA.com eventually called me, personally, at work and conceded a mistake had been made with the information many of us had received. He assured me that BOTH numbers have the O2 bungs and that the only difference between a 6816 and 6817 exhaust had to do with a bracket in the vicinity of the transmission to accommodate the design of the 08s, and that the 6817 superceded 6816. He followed this up with an email...Quote:
"My mistake. The only difference between the two part #'s is we added a spacer for the 08 models where the bracket bolts to the transmission. Both have the bungs for the 02 sensors. Thanks again for asking Cobra, ride safe."
Mark was very nice and very professional and apologized for any confusion.
