Default Andrews 21 Stock 2006 88vtwin

I want to gain some low end torque 1700-3500rpm range and but I really don't want to spend almost 3K on a full port of the heads, boring out the jugs, new valves, and a cam.Everyone has an opinion...Doning a little homework I'm pretty convinced the Andrews 21g is the cam and probably going to gear drive right away makes sense.

The question is this....what should I expect for torque on the Dyno with the Andrews 21G with a mostly stock 2006 88 on a Road King? All I've done is stage 1 air cleaner, V&H Big Shot exhaust and a race tuner. One of he better HD mechanics in my area said the valves in 2005 where changed for better flow and in 2006 they increased the flow in the intake. I've read some posts that seem to confirm that 2006 heads are as good as a 2004 with a port job.

If it is true that the 2006 heads are good enough stock, I'm leaning toward just a cam change. I'm not all that interested in changing he Cam's an not seeing at last 85lbs of torque on the dyno.....anyone with some experience on this know? THANKS!

Just finished an install of the 21g in my 06 Roadking. Also installed the Rinehart duals. It goes in the 15th for a dyno tune. Havent test rode it, still finishing up on putting the bike back together after new paint and lots of chrome. I did get it fired up, and I had a grin from ear to ear. I will let you know how the dyno results come out.

Hey manonthemon, got the dynotune done. Had Mike Stegman at Latus do the tune. I am very happy with the results but havent had a chance to take it out because of the rain. The attachment didnt come out to good. 86.97 maxtorque,77.47 max power, before tune,93.2max torque, 81.21 max power after tune. I can email if interested.

Look into Head-Quarters ....the HQ 0034 is an awesome bolt in cam. I have them in my 06 train...

He Jandjd,

I misread your post, both sets of numbers are with your your new CAM. Those numbers are outstanding. Stock you probabaly were pulling 72lbs max. This is a classic example of if you want to get some tq for a pretty resonable price a stock set of gear drive Andrews 21's will do the trick for under $1500 bucks installed and dyno'd. I'm taking my bike to the harl1y shop Saturday assuming it doesn't SNOW![:@]
