Default S/E AIR FILTER?

Is the S/E air filter a K&N copy? It looks the same so can I clean and oil it the same? The harley shop says no, just buy a new one.

The older SE's used K&N's but the newer ones don't. They are paper. If yours looks like a K&N it could be.

The white ones are washable but you do not oil them. Use warm soapy water and clean from the inside out. allow to air dry do not use air pressure to dry them. Look for holes when you are done. This what the direction say to do. If yours is damaged I would not buy anotherone instead I would kit a K&N and Amsoil actually makes a nicereplacement for the SE filter.
