Kid, sounds like you made it through...... Wonder, how did you make out with the outer gear (the big gear) key?
What is the recommended oil change after doing these gear drive installs? Also, better to use dino oil then change qucikly before putting the synthetic oil back in? Any recommendations along these lines?
Yes, I did make it through. Tried to take it as slow as possible and make sure that I don't forget anything and learn as much as possible in the process.
The outer cam key was a pain in the *** to get on. I had to pull it into place with the retaining bolt, which might be the way that you are suppossed to do it, but the instructions dont tell you chit. They might as well not even send those things with the kit. I would have been completely lost without the help of you guys on this site.
There is only a slight gear wine, which is about what I expected. It would be nice if it went away in 500 or so miles, but I will get used to it if it doesnt.
I am also curious to know if I need to do an oil change prior to my normal 2500 change? I hope that synthetic oil is not an issue, cause I dumped 4 qts of Mobil 1 in as soon as I finished.
