Crossovers on a Harley engine will never let you run that engine to its potential...yes, you can get em running well..but it,ll always not be 100%...31 yrs of dinking with the engines taught me...Cheers!

100% Potential, is that torque or horsepower your talking about? 100% sounds like the ultimate but where? On the street, on the strip, or just cruizing?? Torque (seat of the pants) or HP at redline?? Most people like the pulling power of torque. Drag pipes were meant for HP & nothing else. However, Torque is what you want and doing anything to hurt that doesn't cut it, except on the strip.
You can get as much potential as you need even with crossovers, Trust me. I'm not sayin' that you have to have em' but they won't hurt you.

P.S. Wonder why they put them there in the first place??
P.S.S. I've also learned something in my 37ys of HD exp.

All of a sudden?? HD has been using them a long time and again, you don't need em', but they won't hurt your performance, and plugging them up for true duals is not worth the time and effort, period! Thats All Folks!

To be truthful, I've been riding a harleys with drag pipes for years. I just bought a Road Sofa to be kind to my old *** but I still want the load pipes. I dont nead this big classic to try and run like a hot rod , I just want it to sound like one!

Hey rock, I've had alot of drag pipes on my old Pans, Evos & TC's I like 'em too but.........................I was too young to understand Torque. Ya' get it with the right amount of baffeling. My FXR has V&H Shortshots (drags with baffles) so you see, I do like drag pipes.
