Default D&D 2 in 1 fat cat vs Vance Hines Pipes

I am thinking about replacing my SE II pipes with some D&D 2 in 1 Fat Cat pipes.

I was at the Harley dealer today and was told that D&D was better than Vance 2 in 1s.

Question is: Does anyone have the D&D pipe and did it give you the 25% more power and 15% more torque.

2. If you changed to the 2 in 1, did you have to rejet your carb... I have a 2004 883C SE...Stage 1 Kit..

If you have Vance can you tell me how you like those.

I am not too trusting of the Harley people as they have told me things in the past that just was not necessarily true...

Basically I want to get the best punch for my money...

Which way should I go...

Any suggestions

Well, I'm partial to D&D.

The fitment, finish, sound and most of all....the PERFORMANCE is second to none.

Just my 2 cents, I had Vance and Hines BSS installed right from the stealer, and my friend has them on his 107 c.i. S&S Iron Horse, and I liked their sound- However, after having them for 4,500 miles and then going to the 575 cam change I want all I can get from my 96 c.i. engine.

I changed to D&D Fatcats after checking out the forum and the D&D web page. My indy wrench recommended them too and runs them on his kick *** bagger. From what I read, and hear, 2 into 1 is going to give you better overall performance. Hind sight [>:] says I ought to have gone D&D from the get go; live and learn.

Just my 2 cents.

Have D&D on my 2005 RKC. I can't say enough good things about this pipe. Great performance, sound, and fit / finish.

I had the 2-1 Fatcat on my nighster and it performed well and sounded great. I had a video clip of it, let me see if I can dig it up.

Can't beat the Fatcat for performance, sound (I have the quiet baffle, which isn't really quiet but gives out a nice deep tone) and (this is definitely a matter of opinion) looks. Significantly outperform the V&H Big Shot Longs I had on before.

I believe everyone has answered your first question, now for #2. Yes, if I was doing it, I would have the bike re-tuned ona dyno to getthe maximum and full potential of this new pipe. You don't want to spend that kind of money just to have it look good and sound good when at idle. There is a pretty large difference in the 2-1 and the SE slip-ons with the stock head pipes. On an EFI, it would definetly need doing, but I would say on a carb as well, plus you want to see, or atleast I would like to see the before and after picture of the pipes. So I would do a couple of pulls on the dyno before and that would cost me probably $30 or so, maybe free if I am coming back for a full tune up. Then it would cost me about $250 for the 2 or so hours of dyno time, plus any carb jets or parts needed in the tunning process. Just my two cents on this. If you can't afford to do it right, then don't even do it.
