Default se throttle body???

Hey guys, i just bought the screamin eagle throttle body for my 06 softail. My question is this, i can t shell out the dough to do the motor on the bike for a few months but thought that in the mean time, the se throttle body might be a good addition to what i have, se air cleaner and bassani pro streets, pcIII usb. Anyone have any advice?? Thanks

You would have to tune 2 times than. Might just want to hold off unitl the engine is assembled and pay for a tune once. Just my .02

That's too much for a stock engine and will bog it and the lower end down. Wait till you do the top end and cams.

The SE 50mm throttle body will actually slow the velocity of the air into the cyls without head work, cams and an increase in displacement. Yes, it is bigger and the thinking is bigger = more air into the cyls, but the key is velocity as the valves are only open for an instant, and you have to pack the cylinders with as much A/F as you can in that instant. As others have said, dont do it, you will be disappointed with the results on a stock 96" engine.

Thanks for the input guys!!! If I put it on with SE perf heads, and a 95 kit with cams, would that be a good combo. probably something with just under a .600 lift and 10:1 or 10.5:1 Cr
Thanks again

Oh man, SE heads, you are on thin ice now bro! I'm standing back another row before the wave comes! I did read the great advice given above. As I understood it, your stock throttle body is quite adequate unless you're going above 110".

If your doing 95" you could peddle the SE throttle body because your stock one will make plenty of power, there are guys making 100+hp and tq with the stock throttle body.Save the money not spent on SE heads and contact folks such as Head Quarters, Hillside or Kingofcubes and have one them work with you on putting together a package with their porting of your stock heads. Your going to be mile ahead of the game not to mention much happier with the end product.
