Default Stage II Air Cleaner

I am currently building a 95" stage IV for my RC Custom and would like some input as to what stage II air cleaner to use. I currently have the K&N #RK-3909 kit w/ stock "football" HD cover. K&N has a #RK-3910 which comes with a thicker (2 1/4 vs 1 5/8) filter and flows297 CFM w/o a cover. I like the fact that K&N also incorperates a volicity stack in there system.Does anyone have any experence with this RK-3910kit using the stock "football" cover?I am concernedwhether it will have enough air flow using the stock cover. Also, how does it stack up to the Big Sucker II?

You should be fine. Anything other than stock is better.

pick i'm in the same dilema, thinking about going to the zipper's unit instead of upgrading my 3909 with the bigger 3910 replacement because i'm going from 96 to 103. the football cover is good for dust and rain but directs the hot air from the engine as oppossed to an open element. that 3910 is a large filter, would really like to know how much of a difference there would be either way on each setup. being the 3910 lists for $125 (airfilter only, i already have the plate) and the zipper's unit (filter and backing plate)is $160 i won't be trying both. they both are better then stock, but when your spending a fair amount of cash on mods you don't want to be leaving too much on the table.

The taller filter should be more than enough, if you are worried about the football cover, take a die grinder and cut the bottom lip of the coveraway where no can see it and that will completely open up one side to the filter.
