Weirdest Sounds
For some time now I've heard what appears to be something like a low pitch air leak from my engine when idling. Got a listening device and in the end it turns out to be the cylinder and head fins in a high pitch vibration. You know, like when you hit them with your finger and they ring. Whood a thunk it, but then I remembered seeing Lycoming aircraft engines with rubber spacers between the cooling fins. Apparently they would go nuts and eventually fall off from fatigue eventually until the spacers were added. One more Harley engine noise accounted for
