Default Boot marks on exhaust pipes...

What do you guys do to remove these. I've used lighter fluid in the past with good luck. However, my wife left some from a new pair of boots, and they don't want to come off.

Thoughts?

Ryan,

SOS or Brillo pads work great, they're softer than the chome so it won't scratch 'em.[sm=smiley20.gif]

You can use a razor. Bend it a little bit (arch it ) and keep it as close (parallel) to the pipe as possible while you're scraping . It works good !

I've heard GooGone works. I have something called Blue-Job that works pretty well. Got it at a local bike shop.

Glue Line remover. Any sign supply distributor has it. They use it commercially to remove graphics from vehicles, but it works great on screwups. It also works great to bring whitewalls back in a single wipe.

Thanks everybody!

I thought about trying the Brillo pad, but I was scared that it would scratch. Thanks Mac!

Easy Off oven cleaner works GREAT...heat the pipes up, spray alittle on a soft cloth and dab the area then wipe off! Wala,,,off it comes. Do not spray the cleaner on as it tends to overspray on other parts. You may need to take a damp cloth and wipe off any excess that is on the pipes. Works and is safe on chrome finishes but should not be used on painted surfaces.
