Brillo pad worked best for me . I then use the chrome polish . I have a tube
of Blue be gone , but I must not be using it right . lots of elbow grease .
I do like Mothers ok ,but about the same result . Do you like it ? Maybe the next time i'll use my glasses .

I'm glad u brough this up I have the same issue on my FXDI. I'll try the easy-off. The crapy chrome polish I have didn't work but it's a glasswax not intended to work.

I use Easy-Off, the same way as described before. I've found for the best results make sure the pipes are HOT, hotter the better. Spray some easy-off on a rag and wife the marks off. I then use chrome polish to clean the pipe up

Very fine steel wool (finest you can get ahold of) and chrome cleaner/polish. Don't get into a rush, patience is the name of the game. Work on the boot marks slowly and avoid the urge to use too much elbow greese. I have used this combination (steel wool and chrome cleaner/polish) many times and have always had great results.

If you go to a home improvement center, Home Depot, etc. You can find 0000 steel wool. This is as fine as I've seen. It works great. I've used it on bluing for rifles, etc. and on chrome. Just remember finesse.[sm=signs003.gif]

Thanks! Being an avid woodworker, I have lots of 0000 (superfine) steel wool around. I think I'm going to give the oven cleaner a try as well.

As long as we're on the subject. What chrome polish are you using? I've been using Mothers and am fairly satisfied with it.

Something similar, but I find handier, is engine starter fluid. I keep an spray can of it on my work bench. It is not hard on paint either and is an excellent general purpose cleaner/solvent.
Good luck!!!
