Just did some repair to the comp and was running the bike in the shop. Lighting not really bright and noticed that the pipes near the head were red hot. They are Vance and Hines BSS. Is this normal? Ron
I could have guessed you had an 07 without looking, I have witnessed this myself, part of the reason is the lean fuel mixture, probably around 14.7 to 1, also, late iginition timing and cam timing all have something to do with this,if the exhaust burns hot the emissions are less, anything to worry about?, not while your moving air across the bike going down the road. As for it being normal, well, I guess it is somewhat normal for an 07, do you have any type of fuel modifier,(SERT PCIII DFO etc)?
