Default Slip on advice

I have searched and read until I have thoroughly confused myself. Please bare with my rambling:

I have a 2005 Electra Glide Ultra. It has had the Stage one A/C and remap done. I got the bike with the factory H-D pipes on it and another set of unidentifiable slip ons. The bike runs great witht he standard mufflers, but was a little to sedate for my taste so I put on the other set of slip ons. I noticed considerable blueing around the flange (front) on the pipe (right side only) before I put it on but I relaly wanted to hear them. They sound good, a little throaty while acclerating but not to loud while cruising. I understand that the blueing is normally casued by a lean fuel mixture.

My problem is I need to replace them (cosmetic) and don't know where to turn. I ride very calmly the bike performs to my satisfaction so I don't plan an future engine mods. I simply want to add new slip ons.

1. If I change slip -ons, do I need to remap.

2. Does the answer to #1 depend on what slip ons I use?

3. If I can do it without remap, what pipes would you recommend?

4. How do I ensure that if I replace the slip ons they don't blue like the others.

I am really trying to avoid screwing up an already good running bike and an trying to avoid adding RT, PCII, etc... if I don't have to.

Lot's of questions. Any help will be much appreciated.

forget about the money and make sure the bike runs right. it does depend on what mufflers you use. to get the optimum however you need to remap and use a race tuner. that is the only way to insure no further blueing but no absolute gaurantee against it.

A dyno tuning will give you the best performance. It's hard to say if the blueing was caused before or after the remap so with that being said if you just change out your slipons they may or may not blue again. I personally would put some type of programmer (SERT/PCIII etc.) on the bike and get the most performance I could.

Recommending a set of pipes is just a preference. If possible go to dealers and see if you can find any bikes with some slipons already installed and see if they will let you listen to them. Atleast that will give you some sort of an idea.

I have had the SE Slipons which it sounds like that's what your extra set already is. They had a great look/sound to them. I have the V&H's Ovals right now, but not yet installed.
