How hot will she get ?

How hot will she get ?
The other day I was cleared my IAC offsets on my Tmax and let the bike warm up to 270. When you hit 270 you are suppose to turn the bike off. What would happen if you let the bike kept climbing higher in temperature. Would it get so hot that the engine would seize up? And if this can happen what if you are sitting in traffic?

I found this online:
"If the engine overheats, the first thing that will happen is a gasoline engine will start to detonate. The engine will ping and start to lose power under load as the combination of heat and pressure exceed the octane rating of the fuel. If the detonation problem persists, the hammer-like blows may damage the rings, pistons or rod bearings."
But the other thing that happens is that the oil starts to boil and bake, which means that your bearings and valves and rods are not being cooled/protected. The bearing surfaces can actually melt, and you'll start to get rod knock. This usually leads to throwing a rod. Additionally, if your valves get too hot then can warp and start leaking oil around the valve seats.
So there are a lot of things that can happen when the engine overheats. If you run it to the max temperature, eventually the engine will seize up.
I would be concerned if my engine were getting hotter than 250F. If it got up to 270, I would be pulling over to let it cool back down. You can install an oil cooler, but that might not help if you are stuck in traffic. If traffic is the problem, you might have to install a fan.

READ THE MANUAL. If you have the TMax, the engine light will come on -- depending on you warning setting between 320 and 350. If you do not cool the egnine down, you will do damage. What damage and to what extent would be determined by how hot, and what is the weakest link in your system.

Great info Murphy thanks. I was talking about head temp. Sorry; I did not make my self more clearer. I know that at one time when I was sitting in traffic I saw my engine light blinking which I have set to 310 deg. I pulled over and saw that the oil temp was at 268. When I got home I look at the head temp logs on the Tmax and I saw that 336 deg had been reach. What I am trying to ask is if I did not have the engine light blinking how hot would the bike get? Would it get to a certain temp and get no hotter? Or would it kept on getting hotter until something breaks or seize up?

I run my temps on my TMax program when I'm initializing to 289 degrees. Turn the bike off, turn it right back on for ~15 secs and I'm done. Bike has run like a spotted ape and I've never had problems.
Where did I get this mysterious number? Glad you asked. TMax gurus from elsewhere that know this thing like the back of their hand.
