Default Throttle Body Question

OK... so I am doing the unthinkable again; looking at hot-rod parts. I have been looking at dyno charts and was wondering if anyone had experience with before and after results from upgrading throttle bodies. I am running a high-output SE build with the 251 cam and heads. How much gain would there be from moving to a larger throttle body?

On your 04, you've got the 44mm Dephi. In all honesty, that TB is more than enough for what you have.

If you go bigger, you will see bigger numbers on the top end (Max HP), but they will come at the cost of lowend torque.

If anything, perhaps a Dakota Kid 48mm bore, but certainly nothing more. I know it's tuff not to wanna add just a little more, but unless you are unable to supply what the motor needs, then just making it bigger does not necesssarilly gonna make it "better".

I went from a Geralomy dual 50mm back to the stock 44mm TB on my 98" build and it "rode" much better with the stock TB.

Good... I guess the next question will be, what else, if anything should I add before I take it in for a Dyno this spring and call it "done"... but that's another post.

Thanks!

went with a hp inc 52mm tb on my 95 inch build. as soon as i get my gimpy azz (hand surgery, 3 fused joints and 4 pins) outside i will replace the head gasket i popped (due to the broken head bolt) and lean out the tune and get some numbers up.
