UC True Duals

UC True Duals
This question is UC specific.. but feel free to chime in if you have info that would help me decide.
I have a stock 2003 UC 88 engine and I was looking into replacing the Stock Dual(w/crossover) to a true DUAL. Now, I've been told by other like HD owners that the Crossover does provide some back pressure needed and cooling needed to the back cylinder. If that is true, perhaps some higher end "Slip-ons"
My query is this:
If I go to a true DUAL (rhinehart has a nice setup) for the FLHTCU-I will I lose something critical to the engines performance?
as a follow up to that.. what is the O2 sensor used for and will I need it?
If the exhaust upgrade is do able, I was also going to try a Screamin Eagle or S&S Air Cleaner and also a POWER COMMANDER with mappings for my engine.
Thoughts?
I just want to get a sense of direction before I drop $800 on an exhaust that won't work.

RE: UC True Duals
There have been many threads asked about this.
You WILL lose a little bit of Hp & Tq from not having any backpressure. You will lose it down low where most of the cruising is done.
Some people don't care about that and still go with true duals. It's your choice.
Do a search for Rineharts or True Duals you will find alot of threads about the 2 of them.
