[ol][*]VTiwnJaxFL, you mentioned buying a different ECM controller system. Your Power Commander is fully adjustable if you feel it's to lean. Having the power commander dyno tuned in would be cheaper, and an accurate way to address any mixture issues. [/ol]
I already spent the $300 to have it dyno tuned, it puts out 76 hp and 83 tq, which is good for stock TC 96, I adjusted some of the timing adavancement that thetuner put into get rid of most of the pinging that I was experiencing when it was really hot outside. Believe me it runs better than when I had no PC on it, I just want to not be dependent on a dyno, I want to be able to change anything and have the closed loop system take care of it for me. I probably don't have a lean condition, but I don't want to go back and do another $300 to find out, that would be almost $900 invested in the PC, if you include the cost of the PC, the first dyno tune and an additional one, not to count if I decide to change the exhaust again, which I probably will.

air/fuel is 13.8 at idle I do not think it is running lean I have a 07 tmax, rush slip ons 1.75, big sucker ac bike runs great most of the time it runs on the cool side but i was sitting in dead stop trafic.
I have started turning my bike off when I am in dead stop traffic. I did this during Biketoberfest, it makes no sense to sit there an idle for more than a minute. I just flip it off and when people start to move I crank it up or just walk it up 2 feet so I can stop again. Saves fuel and keeps my legs from burning.

VTwinJaxFL,
Maybe I've just been incredibly lucky (which if ya knew me you'd say is highly unlikely), or maybe your issue is related to something different than an ECM controller. I've had 2 power commanders on 2 different bikes...never had either dyno-tuned..and have not had any heat related issues.
I've checked engine and oil temps with equipment that was calibrated for accuracy...& don't seem to have any issues. I'm an industrial Maintenance Planner by trade (since retirement from the army in 2005).
I have a Predictive Maintenance group as one of the sections I plan and schedule for. To say heat management is important to us would be an understatement. We are a borax mine/refinery located in the middle of the Mojave desert. It's equally important to me at home. I've checked oil temps with a calibrated temp probe (my dial read $50 harley temp dipstick is right on by the way)...and I've looked at my engine & oil cooler with Forward Looking Infra-Red (FLIR). My non-dyno tuned power commander is working just fine...just as the last one did.

Maybe you misunderstood me, I am not having a heat issue on either of my bikes and I am using a PowerCommander on both. My 2007RoadGlide runs around 220 to 225 most of the time, which is acceptable for the TC 96 and much better than what it runs stock (over 250)and my V-Rodhas the help of a radiator to keep it fromevery going over 210 degrees and the Power Commander works wellon it too. I amhaving a slight bit of pinging on the Road Glide and with the way I like to experiment with exhaust, Ithought I might better go ahead and get a closed loop system.

gotcha. I just still have to believe if your bike is properly dyno-tuned...I'd be looking to something else causing the pinging. You obviously know your beans about the bike, so the likelyhood of it being something as simple as the gas you're running probably isn't it. Let me ask, is it a recently developed issue, or something you've had to live with since new? Also how does the bike start cold?...what about starting warm? Also, when you say "experiment with exhaust" do you by chance have some sort of adjustable baffle?...or are you changing baffles?
