Default 04 deuce spits and sputters while cold

Recently I have been faced with a gruelling problem. Last saturday I attended the Hawaii local toys for tots run and prior to arriving I had no indications of any problems. After sitting in a parking lot for three hours when I got on the bike to depart, it would hardly run, give it throttle and it would pop and miss like crazy. Once I started down the line, I racked the rpm range and it seemed to have blown all the crap out. Still popped a little bit after that but only momentarily. Everyday after that, it was the same gig, when cold it would spit and sputter, then it also started making the sucking noise through the intake. I recently tore down the carb, changed the main 195 jet to a 205, and the slow from a 49 to a 52. Installed screamn eagle spitfire plugs, and re-installed the stock wires. This is a stock TC88, with the named above jets, big growl up-n-outs, and a kuryakn twin velosity, (looks I know) but K&N free flowing filter. Now the dealership said when I picked up the jets and plugs that it could be a cracked coil, sounds right, when it's hot the crack mends itself through heat expansion, but problem is, I can't find anyone to test a coil. Any suggestions, I'm lost here.[:@]

Check spark plugs, may be fouled.

Could be an intake leak, with engine running, dribble a little brakeclean around seals,if engine smooths out, that could be it.A coil problem will most of the time, hot or cold act the same. The easiest way is to tale a known good coil and replace. If you have a meter there are checks you can do.Has the welch plug covering the fuel/air adjuster been removed? That needs to be done by now.Its normal for alittle sputter when cold.Dont keep choke on long....as stated above, see what plugs look like and clean and gap to .040..OK,for now,Bob

Is there any reason you need those big jets in there? For a stock 88 as you mention, they sound mighty big for your application. Should be in the area of 46 & 190. Maybe your plugs are loaded up?
