They can take 30-45 minutes to bleed down some times, And the roller as long as it does not have grooves or heavy marks you are ok to re used it on a new cam. The cam/ rollers are not like a flat tappet set up they do not break into one another. They just roll and roll and roll LOL

HDWRENCH
I have been seeing more and more suggestions
regarding changing lifters out around 20K - 25K
I would imagine it might apply to performance applications
rather than bone stock. Any info you can share on this?
Thanks for the input

I used the SE203 cam (w/ 3:73 gearing on an '01) on my FLH for 6 years and it was a good package. That said, I had this duscussion with my current builder and he feels that there's not enough precision in the HD part and would always buy the adjustables.

I had GMR do a budget head work job for me and he was fast(total turn around time including shipping was 1 week)and the heads look very nice, for the money I was not expecting the combustion chambers to be polished or new Kibblewhite blackdiamond valves. One of my buddies had a set of AMS heads done and when he saw mine he said he wished he had gone my route (less than 1/2 price). Still waiting on cylinders to get back from Baisley's but should be together by next week and I will post the results of the budget heads.

this is great info guys. thanks

HDWRENCH, yes I am planning to port, measure and mill the heads and have someone lined up. Although i already have the 203's, I'll keep an eye out for any used 26's that may be out there.

FIRETENDER, I'm glad to hear your satisfied with your 203's. I'm also considering a gear change in my primary --I'd like to swap out the 25T comp sprocket with a 24T.... assuming I can first put the top half of the engine back together LOL.
