Default differences stock 2004/ 2005 heads

What is the difference between the 2004 model year and 2005 model year stock twin cam (88") heads? Port changes? This is a carburated question only please....

05 heads have narrower valve stems and beehive springs. The 05 style valve seals suck and are prone to leaking. There are some different seals out there for the 05's that seem to seal better.

They are interchangeable between the year models, even with the changes in place.

If you send a set of both (04 & 05) to someone like HQ or R&R, they will come back looking the same ~ no more difference between the year models. They all get the older style valves & seals.
