Well, I got to say I put my stock V&H baffles back in and the low end power that I was missing seemed to be back. The bike seemed more responsive and felt like it had a little more low end grunt. Before I had nothing, like I was runing straight pipes. I think I will leave the Thunder Monsters out for now.

The bikes power "seemed" to be back. Many times a change in sound can be percieved as an increase in power. Most(99.9%) times thats not the case. There are alot of "claims" yet you will never see a legitimate dyno backing up the product. The few dynos I saw on the "thundermonsters" showed that they picked up almost no low end power while losing midrange and top end power on top. No thanks, snake oil product. Want a good performing pipe? Do the math and find out what length and diameter pipe would be optimal for your engine and its targeted powerband.

Adding a restrictive baffle or cone is not how you pick up power. You pick up power by having a pipe with properties that are beneficial to your engine combination. Baffles cannot compensate for improper length and pipe diameter.

So, what you are saying is that a set of V-H pipes with stock baffles will out perform the same pipe with the BCT baffles?
Here I was all set to dump the stock baffles on my Big Radius and install a set of Thundermonsters to gain a little power and a lot of sound.
Any other experiences or opinions out there??
Thanks.
While I can't say that for sure, it probably is correct. The Thundermonsters were made to install in drag pipes to help gain a little low-midrange torque that is lost by using drag pipes. Your pipes were designed to a particular length/diameter/baffles to work as well as possible for that style of pipe. If you remove the baffles you lose a lot of the bottom end torque. Installing the Thundermonsters will regain some portion of it, but not the amount you lost. This is in theory in this particular case, but if you've seen torque curves generated by many different exhausts, you'll never see a set of drag pipes, even with something like Thundermonsters and/or reversion cones installed, give as high torque as a well designed baffled pipe. Drag pipes are for drag racing - top end HP & torque.

Hey Mega, I think you missed what he was saying. He felt the lost power with the T-monsters, put the original baffles back in, and noticed the difference. He's agreeing with what the both of us are saying - T-monsters ain't gonna make his V&H set of pipes perform as well as the (well-designed) original system.

I immediately felt a difference when I put the stock baffles back in the V&H's. I had reversed the position of the Thunder Monsters twice to see if I felt any changes in the bike. The only difference was in loudness, not power. And they are LOUD. The V&H are more tolerable and won't **** off my neighbors. If anybody is interested in a pair of BCT Monsters, PM me.

Thanks for this input guys.
I was ready to toss out my stock baffles and install the TMs when my dealer sets up my 95" kit.
Although I have a brand new set of TMs sitting here, I think I'll just leave my BR pipes as is and have them tune it for the stock baffles..
