BORING jUGS
Hey guys, I was just curious how far you can bore your jugs out to were it is still safe. I have a 103 right know and I still want more. I have my stock jugs that I was going to use if I did this.My bro-in-law wants me to go to 114".Along with my 103, I have SE heads, SE throtle body, 257 cams, and the air filter kit. I'm putting out arond 107 horse and 110 torque.

RE: BORING jUGS
Some are starting to bore factory jugs to 3.93x, which would net you right at 107"+/-. It is a relatively new thing to bore the stock jugs beyond 3.875 (103"). Personally, I would not do it yet, but some are.
If you really wanna make it bigger, just get yourself a set of the "BiggerBore" just, open up the cases for the larger spigots & you'll have a 113". Properly built, some of the 113's are making huge power!

RE: BORING jUGS
We have bored probably 20 sets of cylinders for our 107" pistons in the last 8 months and 50- 60 sets to that bore size for the 98's. We use JE forged pistons in these. As Phil has explained the verdict isn't out yet on longivity, we have not heard of any issues with the cast iron linedstuff.
