Default Replacing V&H Ovals with Rinehart True Duals

I have a 2005 FLHT with Stage-1(Harley remap),95 inch Big Bore Kit (SE 203 cams)and Vance and Hines Oval Slip-ons. I am considering going to the Rinehart True Duals.

Would I need a remap or can I switch them out and ride for a while until I can afford a Power Commander and Dyno time?

Also, any opinions on if I'll see any performance gains?

Thanks

You can probably get away with it but will see modest if any gains IMHO.
You may like the sound better but you won't gain much and may lose a little
on the bottom end.

A buddy of mine has a set laying around and said I could try them out. His old lady made him take them off because of the noise. My bike runs greatwith the V&H ovals but I'd still like to see howshe performswith the Rineharts. Every little bit helps!Eliminatingthe crossover would make the bike look better but I am concerned about the"back-pressure" issues even though I must admit I don't understand it all.

Thanks,
Dave

For the cost of a couple of exhaust gaskets and some clamps, give it a shot. The difference in exhaust air flow with the duals is probably not enough to require remapping the ECMto correct a/f. Lots of folks prefer the "look" of Rinehart TD's and and their sound, myself included.

Performance-wise, you might lose a little torque in lower rpms, but see some gains in hp above 3000 rpm. Unless you have a very sensitive "butt dyno," you will probably notice the look and sound far more than any performance change.
