How often to inspect cam chain tensioners?
When I bought my bike, I had read enough to know I wanted gear drives and hotter cams, but, my friends (that do a lot of thier own maintenance) are still running the stock set-up.
I looked in the service manual, but, I'm not finding it.
What is the recommended service period for Cam Chain Tensioners?

Rule of thumb, if you're at 20-25k you best be checking. Second rule of thumb, if you're going in there why not just change them out while in there or switch to gears, or do the roller chain conversion as introduced on the 06 Dynas and 07+ models

The roller chains along with new hydrolic instead of spring loaded tensioners is SUPPOSE to fix the wear problem. I do not have any personal experiance with the new set ups but have not heard any complaints and appears to be a better system. Anything will wear after enough time.
