Default How do I adjust??? (Carb)

My bike is running LEAN... how do i adjust it to make it a little RICHER without going to the stealership? I have stage 1 on it and has all the proper jets, I just need to adjust it to give it a little more fuel rather than air.

If you have pictures on how to do it, that would be very helpful. Thanks!

You do not have an external adjustment but the CV's can be richened up by raising the needle in the slider. Pull the top cover (four screws with the throttle cable bracket) and lift the vacuum piston out. The needle is through the piston with a clip in a groove in the needle upper end. Move the clip down one groove and carefully reassemble the carburetor. You would benefit by purchasing the service manual for that bike....

Look in the DYI section it will show you pictures and tell you everything you'd ever want to know about carburation. Good luck......

With a stage one setup and proper jets , it wouldn't be lean (just had to say that).
If you had someone else do the work , they should be able to tell you what your jets and needle combination is.
Most likely the pilot jet would be a #45 and the main would be a #190.(stock setup)
If you're not sure , you'll have to take it apart and look....
Look and see if the idle mixture plug has been removed also.
The DIY section and the link anubiss gave are good for starters.
Most bikes are lean at idle and off-idle (the EPA mandated stuff) and should be richened up a bit.
The main (high speed) jet is pretty close unless you have some engine internal mods.
On my bike , the idle (pilot) jet was really lean so I tried a #46 to see if it would help.
It worked pretty well until I added the V&H mufflers.
I then went to a #48 and found it to be right (for my bike).
We then tried 2 (.050"total) #4 machine washers under the jet needle.
Better , but not what I wanted from the change I made.
Then tried a sporty needle , better yet and didn't mess up my fuel mileage.
Now we have the idle and low speed/midrange pretty close.
Then tried a #195 main jet , no real drivability change , but lost 4-5 MPG.
Then tried a #200 main jet just for grins, no improvement , but knocked my top speed down to about 85 mph in fifth.
This was a sure sign of a "too rich" condition.
Went back to the original main jet #190.
I also tried the screaming eagle air valve spring and found it was more of an irritation than it was worth (tuning wise).
It might work on a lighter bike , but mine had a decell flutter that I didn't want to mess with.
I don't recommend drilling the slide like some articles mention , once you go there , you're screwed if it doesn't work for you.
So my final setup is in my sig at the bottom.
Mileage is 48-50 by myself , and 40-44 with the wife on back.
If you can do these things yourself , you will have about $20.00 in the mods and a real nice running bike.
YMMV , but this is what worked on my bike.
