Default 07 Softail Standard Mufflers - Mods?

Hi All,The sound of my stock mufflers is getting me down. I've found anotherset of standard mufflers and have heard that I can get a better sound (and potentially better performance) by modifying them.... Is that true? What can be done to them to make the exhaust sound deeper? Thanks for any tipsPauly

Pauly,I was in the same situation you now find yourself in. I had an extra set of mufflers that I wanted to modify to get a better sound. There is a thin piece of metal preventing the mufflers from being flow through about eight inches in from the rear of the pipe. All I did was get a long one inch drill bit and drilled a hole in it. It helped a little but it wasn't what I was looking for in sound and volume. I ended up buying a set of rush slip ons and couldn't be happier.

If you do a search you should be able to find many threads on the same subject. Good luck with the mods.
