Default AV GAS

Have a 07 Electra Glide Classic, has any body had any bad luck running aviation fuel, or should I just stay away from it.
Thanks

Not sure why you'd want to use AVGAS, but whatever melts your butter.

I would think the cost factor alone would steer you away. The last time I checked, 100LL was running about $3.50 per gallon to $5.65 per gallon, depending on FBO.

AVGAS has lead in it,why would you even consider it is beyond me it is expensive plus it will probably mess up your bike,if you want more octane just buy some octane booster...

Yea, lead is toxic. That's why the government still allows its sale - to aircraft to dump their exhaust in the sky....

You don't need the tetraethel lead in a TC, and the increased octane can be had by mixing a little kerosene to your gasoline - or diesel fuel - but they both stink like a Gray Hound bus. Octane boosters at an auto parts store will do much the same - and stink too for the bikes behind you. But, try it, it won't hurt your engine at all.

In addition to having high levels of tetraethyl lead, AvGas also had low flash point so that the gasoline will vaporize properly at cold altitudes. You don't want this in your bike.

The lead will foul your O2 sensors before long. Also, AV gas runs a little leaner.

I agree, it will make your gas milage go way down and wont give you any more performance unless you have lots of total timing and really high compression. Higher octane means harder to burn, and in a stock motor less power.
