love my bike but i need to make it loud. i realized it when a softail passed me and made the ground rumble. what brands do i need to look into to maximize my sound. also what the price range on bike exhaust. i know quite a bit on car exhaust but im clueless when it comes to harleys.

First you need to ask yourself:
Just how loud do you want it?
How much are you willing to spend?
Is there a certain look you wish to acheive?

Personally I am going to start with Screaming Eagles and see how things go from there.

V&H straightshots are the ultimate - volume, growl, styling

worth the little extra cash, believe me.

Just put cycle shacks on my 04 1200c. I love 'em! ran me 400 bucks installed, including re-jetting to #45, new wires and plugs.

Have a 04 1200 Custom.
Came with a re-jet and SEIIS "slip fits" [ off road only style]
I changed them to Samson Big-GunIIS long style slasher.
DAMN what a sound. MY little 74 sounds better than my riding buddys Big 88s [ dayna Low rider, and 2 Wideglides] one with bubs, the other two have V&H. I have no baffles, Installed home made lolly pops.

The SE's are nice, I prefer V&H products- fit, finish, quality, and they do sound good- Just remember to get the jetting right to keep from lean running and coloring the pipes!
