The air cleaner itself is easy to install, but you need the Stage 1 Fuel Injection remap download for the bike to run right. It is already set up lean from the factory and the SE air cleaner will make it worse. Could run lean enough to burn valves.

You'll see a marked improvement in low end performance with the air cleaner and remap. Go for it!

Well I am going to do the Power Commander III USB, so I won't need the Stage 1 Fuel Injection map. Is that correct? I am also doing the Samson Rolled Thunder slip ons. If any one has this config, how does it sound?

You won't need the download, but it's nice to have anyway. It raises the rev limit on the bike, and it the PCIII ever conks out, you can still keep riding. Some people claim you don't need the rev limit raised, but if you like to ride hard it makes a difference.

I'm showing my ignorance! What is the rev limit and what does it do?

The rev limiter is a piece of software in your bike computer that keeps you from over-reving the motor and possibly hurting it. I don't remember for sure, but I think stock, the rev limiter is set for 5500 RPM. The stage 1 download increases the RPM limit to 6200 RPM before the rev limiter kicks in.

Hope this helps.
