Exhaust choice for Twin cam 107" build
Hey, I have a 2010 fatboy that I'm building from 96" - 107" ....
Any suggestions for a good exhaust that is fairly mellow? I have V&H big shot staggered and they're too loud for my ears on long rides.
Yeah, I'm getting old.
Don't tell me to buy a Honda
Thanks for any useful suggestions.
Cheers

Yes, I think I've seen the billet open end caps you can get. Very $$$ though.
I've been trying to find a kerker 2-1 but I can't find one in Chrome for a 2010 fatboy???
Do you know who sells them?
Thanks

Supertrapp all day.
I installed the Supertrapp Supermeg last Spring on my FXDX. Absolutely love this exhaust. Mine came with 20 discs and closed end cap. I tried 10 discs with their Competition End Cap. Noticeably louder and about the same performance as the quieter 20 discs/closed. Fantastic performance. I'm sure getting it on a dyno will get me to where I know exactly how many discs I should run but I am very happy with the included 20.
I put the 20 discs closed back on. I love how it is quiet at idle and cruising but it sounds like what a performance Harley should when you get on it. I commute to work. I leave the house at 0530... I don't wanna be *that* jackass in the neighborhood. Supertrapp fits the bill!
Very happy with the fit and finish too. I run a Thunderheader on my Shovelhead and considered one for the FXDX. Thunderheader performance is good but the quality/fitment/coating leaves a lot to be desired unfortunately.... they are notorious for cracking on the rubber mount bikes, they hang low and drag on corners.....and it is loud.... but I like my Shovelhead loud.
