Default Baffles

‘97 Ultra Classic
I have 3.25” od slip ons that have no baffles. It sounds like machine gun fire when the engine is under load. I have searched high and low for baffles with no luck. Anyone have a source that might have something that will fit?

You state:
"I have 3.25” od slip ons that have no baffles. It sounds like machine gun fire when the engine is under load."
That is rather unusual..

Backfires and such general happen when throttle is closed.
Under load would be when you are opening the throttle or pulling down the road while applying throttle.
From the picture it looks like perhaps you have aftermarket slip-on mufflers.
Any brand markings on the slip-on mufflers?
What does the inside of muffler look like from the outlet?
If you are unable to locate any branding then perhaps J & P cycle for baffles..
Sometimes a simple lollipop in the mufflers is cheap, adjustable and effective if some back pressure is required.

Yes, it does backfire some on roll off but it really makes a loud staccato when rolling on the throttle.
I don’t find any markings on them except a disclaimer stamped into it about not being DOT approved and not legal for street use.
They are completely open all the way to the inlet and I don’t see any evidence of any kind of mounting hardware for any type of insert.
They very closely resemble Full Boars but most FBs that I’ve found are either 3 or 3.5” od and mine are 3.25”.

We’re it me, I’d just grab a pair of FuelMoto Jackpots for the cost they are hard to beat.

What is the inside diameter of the outlet? Usually 1.75,2.00,2.25 or 2.5 inches. Once you figure that out you might find something to fit.

What about torque inserts like lollipop’s. Look at the ones from DK Customs.. might be enough. I made my own.

I’ve run across a few of these in my search . Just not familiar with them and wasn’t sure how effective they are.

The lollipops will help with reversion and the bike may run better, but it will still be loud.

It will mellow the sound out quite a bit actually. Just bending them out changed the sound.
