guess i'll have to yank on them again, although i really don't want to. Is there another way to test that. I have them on my 2012 Fatboy Lo. So i'm used to them

I was in the same predicament except my bike was a 2014 103 and the heat was insane.
I ordered a bassani 2x2 headpipe and was about 450 bucks.
Has bungs for narrow or wideband sensors.
Crossover pipe was round and not flattened.
Cobra neighbor haters slip ons.
SE stage1 air filter
Used fp3 for the tune.
Cooled it off quite a bit and good sound.
Quiet but you can make it bark when you twist the grip. No highway drone.

What ever you select, I'd go with 4 inch cans. The M8's are sensitive to back pressure and will lose low end torque without some back pressure. The S&S Grand National slip ons are fairly quiet while cruising but have some bark on accel. Also note that the exhause sound will change some if the cat is removed.

Looked at the S&S El Dorado's, says (Relocation of cats to mufflers reduces rider heat) Wouldn't it be better to not have the Cats in? I'm so new to the baggers I'm just trying to figure this stuff out. Each time I watch a video it's all about the Excelleration sound and not the cruising sound. I just want a quiet set of Black pipes. Enough of the chrome. Any set of black pipes that are quiet will work no matter the brand. I've always used V&H, but don't mind a switch in brands if they're what I'm looking for.
