Default Cracked stock head-pipe TC-88

During installation of my new tires, my indie mechanic pointed out that my stock head-pipe on my 2003 FLHCTI has a cracked rear head-pipe at the Y-connection. The recommendation is to replace it with a Cobra true dual unit since stick items are unavailable. I’m leaning towards the Cobra pipe recommendation and now I’m wondering about a good tune. Since this is an old ‘03 Twin Cam 88 with no O2 sensors I’m trying to figure out how a tuner will actually help.

Will the new head-pipe require modifications to accommodate any O2 sensors for ECM/ECU feedback? Has anyone been down this road and have feedback I can use? Thanks all in advance for your input.

How about having the OEM pipe welded with a gusset. Mine has held for 30,000 miles.
Cost= $25.

The 2 I fooled with in the past we tack welded the crack, then removed pipe and welded it up.
One we did make a gusset for it.

If /When you order the pipe just be sure to note info about bike and if it comes with O2 bungs you can get plugs for them

I had one welded. Also see on eBay. It can be sign of bad motor mount

Will certainly check motor mounts. I did check them back in March this year and they seemed solid. It is an older bike so not unexpected. Appreciate the responses. 🙏🏻

There is nothing to tune by replacing one pipe with another pipe. I would consider trying to weld it as others have suggested, but if it didn't hold up, there's a gazillion places to buy a complete exhaust system.

I broke one driving over a curb. When I had smaller bikes, I would drive on sidewalk, to park in front. Other time not sure. So may not be mount. But mechanioc friend told me to check if it happens.

The true duals, even though they sound cool, will kill your low end torque. I’d go with the other recommendations and weld w gusset.

Yup, best money you will spend on keeping the bike on the road.
Unless of course you want a tru-dual type set up.
Besides your bike doesnt have 02 sensors now and should you go the tuning route a tuning shop will be able to install temp bungs and plug later.
