RE: removing stock Harley carb
All right.. she started. Now for the rain to stop to ride some and see how it does. I used to have to choke it to start it all the time. I only choked it to start the 1st time. Shutdown and started 4 more times over the next hour and no choke. Steady idle.Good throttle response even when barely warm. Im really impressed so far.

RE: removing stock Harley carb
I was able to put 110 miles on Sat on the new carb. First impressions... WOW. Throttle response is going to take some getting used to!! Its got a lot more power thru the whole rpm range. Couple of things I noticed.. was cruising at 55 with wife on back. Went to pass a slower vehicle so I just rolled on the throttle (@ 55 Im runnin 2250 rpm). Jumped to 65 in no time.. didnt have to downshift like I normally would. But the most noticable was.. no engine pinging!! Thats all gone! Mileage on a small 2 up run was 41mpg. I had been getting 38-40 so not a huge gain there.. yet. Ill have a better idea this weekend as Im riding to Missouri for a weekend camping trip. Thanks again for all the help and tips. Any more tuning tips or fine tuning tips will be just as happily received.

RE: removing stock Harley carb
Just a followup to my posts... this weekend on an 1100 mile trip to MO, I got 46-48 mpg on the bike where before I was getting 38-40!! At first I thought my gas guage was broken or sticking. haha Im going to pull the plugs tonite and see what they say about the trip. I put in new ones specifically for this trip just to judge the rich/lean mix.
