Needless to say, I won’t be using Jet-Hot Coatings. I found a Reputable local Guy that does Cerakote, well Under half the Cost of Jet-Hot

Jet Hot is one company I stay away from. There is a mom and pop shop down the street from them that do outstanding work. Prices are fair and the service is fantastic. They called me a few months after the purchase and asked if everything was ok and if I was happy with the work they did. I had several parts powder coated and my exhaust ceramic coated. Go local. Jet Hot makes false statements about their products.

Way back in the 90’s, I used Jet Hot to coat the headers and side pipes of my hot rod. All I can say is that they still look as good today as when installed 27 years ago. Expensive but a quality product.

Your statement is very true. A friend of mine had his exhaust done in OKC. Paid an arm and leg for it, He lives in Tennessee and spent a few days with me while they coated his pipes. The pipes looked good but about a year later they were recoated. My pipes were done around the same time frame. Have some wear and tear but still look good. Jet Hot made some pretty wild claims about how much cooler their coating runs as compared to other companies. Not true at all. My pipes were done by a mom and pop shop right down the street from Jet Hot. I paid about half of what he did. Yes Jet Hot use to be a very high quality coating. Do not know much about their North Carolina shop but OKC makes some pretty wild claims.

I got a quote in August for my d&d header in their 1300 coating and it was $336. No heat shields

That sounds more realistic, and is about what i figured it would be for mine, I would have went with Jet-Hot if it had been. Oh well, it turned out for the better anyhow, I am getting it done Local in Glacier Black Cerakote for a Fraction of what Jet-Hot Quoted me.

Jet-Hot is expensive, no doubt, but they do have a product that works. I sent my headers in for my build and it took some time to get back, but I was updated every step of the process and they actually double coat the parts inside and out. Their Chief engineer explained that blacking out my parts would basically eliminate the benefit of the cooler headers because the black absorbs and retains heat, so I ended up going with classic polish and it works great!!

They also made this video explaining the black coating

Scam. The black coating they referred to as rattle can coating? Not a professional done application. The idea that the black absorbs heat is nothing but bull. The only coating they sell which cuts heat is the smooth silver. Yes I had my pipes done directly down the street at half the cost. Coated inside and out which 99% percent of the shops do. Done in black which matches my bike rather well. Heat was cut down enough to enjoy riding no matter what the air temperature is. Ceramic coating do not last forever. Try collecting on their warranty good luck with that.

After i Recieved the Quote above i didn’t even bother replying back to Jet-Hot, as There was absolutely no way i was gonna pay over 700 dollars to have my new Motorcycle pipe Coated black, NOT GONNA HAPPEN! Jet-Hot has sent me a couple of emails and a Text message asking me if i got the Quote and if i had any questions? I responded to their last email and told them i was not interested, that their Quote of over 700 dollars was unbelievable, In that email i also gave them a link to this Thread, so they are very well aware of it here. Then post #8 Shows up here
