Opinions on Street Sweepers and Rip Saws
A friend recently purchased an '07 FXST and is considering the Samson Rip Saw or Street Sweeper exhaust. He likes the looks but wants only moderate loudness, definitely quieter than straights, and little or no loss of low-end or mid-range torque. Doing a search here reveals the BG2's are both loud and reduce backpressure enough to affect performance since they have no baffles nor option to install them. The BG3's, however, have standard baffles.
So what's the verdict? Loudness? Loss of power? If so, are there any similar designs that don't adversely affect power?

RE: Opinions on Street Sweepers and Rip Saws
I have the V&H Big Radius pipes. Love em. With the baffles in, they were moderately loud in my opinion, but not loud enough for me. I removed the baffles, and the beast roared to life. I have an 07 Fatboy, with stock motor and just sounds awesome. I had it Dynoed a couple of weeks ago, and my torqueand HP numbers were only offslightly with the baffles removed from the factory numbers.
Draw from this what you can.
I love mypipes, and at this time, would not even consider any other pipe.
