RE: Exhaust crossover tube
Reading this thread the other day and today I was over at the military sales dealer BS'ing with him and looked at the sporter exhaust (just because someone was taking delivery and noticed the exhaust didn't have the cross over tube or maybe I just didn't see it. Not have the parts catelog in front of me I'm thinking you might have gotten exhaust for that type. I maybe wrong. Just a thought

RE: Exhaust crossover tube
You can install without the crossover tube, but it requires modifying the pipe brackets on your bike. I would not recommend it because the crossover tube balances exhaust pressure between the two cylinders improving idle run and low end torque (much like you will find with a two into one exhaust). The SEII mufflers equipped for crossover are cheap (retail 249.00). I would wait until I had the 250 rather than buy something that wasn't designed to fit your bike. You may be happy with the sound, but you won't be happy with the degradation in performance.

RE: Exhaust crossover tube
Thanks for the info, the SE II's are for the 2000 and up Fatboys so I asked the guy selling them the same question and he wasn't sure but also wondering if not having the crossover tube made a difference so we thought we would try them on the bike. The results were the bike idled no different and worked and sounded great. Thanks again for the help and I realy like this site!!
