I wrapped the high performance baffles for my Rhinehart 4” mufflers with this. Easy to custom cut for proper fit. Not a bad price also. They’ve been in for two years now. Sound great! No sign of burn out yet. Found it on eBay.

Ceramic Fiber Blanket 1"x12"x24" Thermal High Temp Insulation 2600F 8# - 2 Piece.

I have V&H 2-into-1 pipes on my H-D VRSCDX-A 2008 (Night Rod Special). The exhaust is Stainless-Steel. I have tried many types of packing and not happy with any of the fiberglass ones -- they basically evaporate overnight!! LOL After trying many things I found that the 3M Scrungy Pads (pot washers) at Walmart work very well as packing for mufflers -- especially Stainless-Steel (since the 3M product is also made of Stainless-Steel). It has tightly coiled/sprials of various widths of Stainless-Steel ribbon in it and it is ideal for this purpose. It doesn't seem to wear out or vaporize at all either and give the exhaust a nice low rumble sound. You can dig around in the center of each to find the pathway through it -- so it forms a kind of donut and then just slip them one by one over your inner baffle form. Been a long time since I did it but I think I fit 6 in my muffler. Cheap and I think the best choice.

That is good to hear! I just ordered some of the same product to try because it was very reasonably priced.

You may find it to be a bit thick (1”) but it easily separates in layers to make it about half that thickness allowing a good fit in the muffler. Probably need to cut the long side to meet equally when wrapped around the baffle. Cuts with a utility knife easily.

I replaced my muffler end caps recently. It allowed me a good look at just how well the material was holding up. Looked just as good as the day I installed it.
