Default Choke broke

Got a question - my choke wasn't staying open and I just checked it out to find the plastic part is cracked. It looks like I need to replace the whole cable, but I can't tell. Anyone ever have that happen before? Any idea how to fix it - or what it costs?

Appreciate the help.

Ed

The entire cable assembly runs about 20 bucks. I just bought one for my bike.

Cool - that's not too bad. I have an 01 Deuce. What's it take to put it in?

removing the choke assy from the carb, removing the old cable from the plunger and installing the new cable, then reinstalling the choke assy on the carb.

And you'll have to remove the air cleaner assy and carb, too, BTW.

I got it. BTW - did you have to remove the fuel lineor the throttle cables from the carb or could you get to the choke cable with those on there? I took a look at the carb and then the manual - from what I can see it looks like the throttle cables may be ok to leave on - but I don't know about the fuel line.

Hey thanks again guys - finally got the part and finished up the job today. Like you said it was pretty easy - I never had to take the throttle off - but the fuel line had to come off. The bike runs a lot better now that the cable works right - I think it might have been leaving the valve open before.Damn I guess I should check the plugs...
