I went to the harley dealer today wondering how much a harley factory fuel map for a stage 1would be so when i put my pipes and A/C on the bike will get the right fuel amount. i've had people tell me that they do that and i have a buddy that just had it done last year. the harley dealer told me they don't do that any more and you have to buy a race tuner for $400, or they said they could create a custom dyno map for$250compared to the $60 stage 1 map. i'm a pretty young guy so i don't know if there just trying to screw me over because they think i'll fall for it, so if someone can shed some light on the subject i would greatly appreciate it.

 

Try a different dealer.

 

Seems every dealer has their thing about the mapping.
WESD41 is right, you need to run not walk away and find someone else.

My dealer told me the same thing. Guess I'll have to find another one nearby and see what they say.

 

I went to the Zippers Thunder-max ECM with autotune that replaces the stock HD ECM, load the maps yourself plus the ability tosee ifyour sensor are reading ok or bad, adjust idle speed or anything else yourself. Runs great!!! Get them from E-Bay brand new for $700. Zippers support is great also.

 

$700 seems like a awful lot ta me ta get a "new " bike ta run "right", jus mho

Find another dealer. Mine still does the downloads....including the race download. Granted, both are still lean, but he does them.

 

i'll try to talk to my dealer again and try to reason with them
