Upswept Fishtails on 1984 FXRS EVO
I have a 1984 FXRS Evolution, and I want upsweep fishtail pipes on it. Everyone tells me it can’t be done due to the EVO rubber engine mounts and the engine and pipes floating in the mounts.
I am suborned and I believe there is a way to do this and it will not break the [pipes. May be a less radical upsweep or a modified bracket.
Is there anyone who has done this please share how you did or if not any ideas on how it can be done.

I’ll bite this fishhook
” Everyone” is essentially correct
Not a good idea, BUT I guess anything worth doing wrong is worth doing
How tall do you want them?
How are are your fabrication & welding skills?

Thanks for responding, I'm not good at welding or fabrication
Sketch of one idea I have
but I can find someone local to do it. Here is one idea I have upsweep maybe 12 " using or modifying the same brackets now on my bike (see second picture) What I'm trying to understand is why if I add 10" to 12" to the existing system why will it break the pipes? Is it because the bracket has to have a even or balanced load? The other question is why later models can have upsweep pipes but mine can't.

May not break if you don`t make them excessively long / heavy
The problem is X amount of movement at the bracket is multiplied the farther you move away. Becomes XX or XXX
Too much movement it`ll fatigue and break the pipe or the rubber isolators will tear out.
