Hello old chap, from not so far away. It's for an International spec bike, which our mostly US fellow members are unlikely to be familiar with, so unable to offer any suggestions for value. As a stock system it would cost a fortune to buy new, but has relatively little value secondhand. Why do you ask and why don't you know what it came off!
The black box (partially?) closes off the exhaust system at low road speeds, to reduce noise levels, for those markets which have lower noise limits than US spec bikes. My Buell XB12R Firebolt came with a similar one, but not my XB9R.
