Default D&D Fat Cat - input please

My engine building (now a 106" motor) has recommended theD&D Fat Cat 2:1 pipe to replace my current VH BSS. Can anyone provide some input on these pipes (performance, sound quality and loudness)? Also, I have read some posts that ground clearance is an issue on the Softails - I'm not too aggressive in the twisties - but I don't want something that even a moderate rider is going to scrape. Thanks.

Well most 2-1 are a bit lower than a stock pipe. We use them on a very regular basis. They are a bit loud and raspy with the stock baffle we have beenusing the quite baffle in them and they have a very nice mellow sound, and we are making more hp/tq with the quite baffle. Price wise I think they are in the upper end of pipe pricing at 591, but the fit and finish is great as well any warranty issue are handled with great care.

The Fatcat is well known to be the best performing 2-1 system on the market. High flat torque curves with a high hp number.

Go for the quiet baffle...........it's sounds great and makes slightly more power.

I don't see a quiet baffle listed on the D&D website for the Fat Cat pipe. They do list abig bore baffle option for 95" to 103" - is that the quiet baffle?

No, you want the quiet baffle. They don't have it listed on their website, but if you go thru GMR or AMS they can get them for you.

order the pipe with the quiet baffle installed, save yourself the trouble. it's an additional $50 for the QB. i got one through zippers with the tmax, but cycle spot has the best prices i've seen.

Is there a way todetermine if the Fat Cathas the standard baffle or the quiet baffle installed. I am looking at some from private sale but do not want to find out the expensive way.
