Default Stock exhaust vs street cannons

I’d like to know if the stock exhaust gets louder with break in. At this point, I’m being run off the road by oblivious drivers who drive on in blissful ignorance.

I’d also like to know if the street cannon Slip Ons are louder than the stock exhaust, or just lower pitched. If louder, are they loud enough to alert others drivers to the bike’s presence? I’m sure there are louder or subjectively better sounding Slip Ons out there and I’m not asking for recommendations. I just want this specific info about the street cannons.

Thanks.

It would probably help if you included which bike/year these would be on. In my experience, all slip ones get a little louder over time.

I can also tell you on an ‘18 Deluxe/M8, the SCs are not louder than the stock at idle, and are a bit louder than the stocks when you hit the throttle.

The loudest set of slip ones I’ve had were the V&H Straight Shots I had on my ‘15 Sportster 48.

Then the SC’s are probably not loud enough for you.

I have a 2018 Ultra I bought new last Fall. I have 4000 miles on it and the exhaust sounds louder to me now than when I first started riding it. But, it’s still relatively quiet.

I have a 19 Limited with Stage 1 and Street Cannons. The Street Cannons are louder than stock at cruising speeds and especially at throttle. But as mentioned already, at idle, I don't think you can tell the difference from stock. If you're looking for something just a little louder than stock besides at idle, they may work for you. I think they're loud enough to alert cagers. I like them.

Same here, I bought an 18 ultra last fall as well and have 4300 miles. A little louder but not much. Waiting for warranty then I'll get a louder exhaust.

If you are hoping to use a loud exhaust as a safety feature, you may want to re-examine your entire riding strategy.
