Installed a PCIII usb on my 07. First thing, takes longer to start. That I understand. 2nd, Bike now pings when rolling on the throttle. Take PCIII off and no pining. Any ideas

I have an Idea.... get rid of that peice ofJUNK and buy a SERT or have it direct link tuned. And another option is the thundermax! I have seen way too many problems with the PCIII on 07's

I am sure there will be numerous people that say it is not junk and it works fine on there bike....Just nothing I have seen so far with my own eyes!

 

I sorta had the same issue except mine is a 06 model, got mine fixed though with a good dyno tune, the back cylinder will not map the same without a tune or a tune that has been done so you can get the proper map, with the sert or the PCIII to get the proper tune get it dynoed, take my word you'll be happier.

07 Ultra with PC111. 45mpg and no pinging.
Find a good tuner as canned maps don't always work.

 

I have been having the same problem - pinging on my 07 Ultra with the PCIII. Remove the PCIII and no ping!

Jynojet now has my PCIII and is trying to determine why. Hope to hear something today.[&:]

i would be going with the sert and get rid of the standard air filter it needs to breathe.

 

I have a PCIII on the way from Fuelmotto. I installed my V&H Big Radius pipes yesterday. I wanted to see what the bike would run like with the new pipes and the stock air filter and ECM. The bike runs great!! I can't tell any difference in performance. There is no loss of torque / low end at all. Biker rolls into the throttle just as smooth as before. Everyone says that you have to have all three: Pipes, air filter, and tuner in order for the bike to run properly. This is not the case in my situation. I am still going to install my PCIII and the K&N set up today, but I hope that the bike runs as good with it as it does without it. If it don't.......damn, what a waste of money.
Note: This was just my personal experiance. I am not saying that everyone would / will get the same results.

Not having the right map installed or maybe no map at all will be evident on your plugs. run them for a while, pull the plugs and see whats going on inside the motor.
