might know. My brother got happy with the plasma torch and took all the baffles out of his pipes. He's being told this will destroy his engine, I doubt it, but he wanted me to check with yall to see what you thought. Thanks, Stafford

Opening the pipes has two functions. Increase the air flow, and increase noise.

The engine is an air pump. More air:fuel in and out makes more power. It works with a specific air:fuel ratio. xAir:xFuel.

By opening the pipes, you're allowing an increase in air movement. If you don't also increase the amount of fuel, the formula is now x+yAir:xFuel. It may be off by a large amount, or only a tiny amount that won't matter. If it's off by a lot, it can melt a piston. Only way to know for sure is use a meter and find out what the mixture is.
