'04 FXST--Took main jet and needle jet holder out, and needle jet fell out.
Question: There is a top (goes into carb first) and a bottom of the needle jet (that the needle jet holder screws against). I am not sure which end of the needle jet to put into carb first--the long end is in carb and the shorter end I have against the needle jet holder.
Have I installed the needle jet properly? There are less threads exposed on the needle jet holder once screwed in with the long end of the needle jet being inserted into carb first.

If you look at both ends of the needle jet you will see that one end has a staight hole and the other end has a chamfered hole ( like a V or a funnel ) . This chamfered end will go up. It is the end your needle will enter.

 

Thank you sir--Have to take my carb apart as I know the long end is up in carb first--not sure if it was the flat or chamfered end.
