How far back to move QQ baffles?
I bought a set of QQ baffles from Big City Thunder last April for my Vance & Hines Longshots.
Really like what they did to the sound, but I would like it quieter at higher RPM's. Riding around town is great. Doing 70+mph on the freeway get a little tiring all day (thanks to my old ears I guess). If there were a magic solution to quiet down the freeway riding while not changing the low RPM riding that's what I'd want.
The tech at BCT told me I could install the QQ baffles further back in the pipe and install the V&H original baffles a half inch behind them. Right now the QQ baffles are about 4 inches into the pipe.
Has anyone done this? How far back is okay to go? I've got about 27" of pipe between the tail end and the headpipe. The BCT baffles are 8" long and the V&H baffles are 13" long, so I've got room to put them both back a few inches, but is that going to cause any issues? Or will it quiet my bike too much? Not looking to be all the way down to stock volume.
