Changing exhaust after being tuned???
So when I bought my 15 sgs it had already by the previous owner, had a stage 2 upgrade, screaming eagle intake, CFR exhaust and was tuned. I'm looking at changing to a 2 into 1 side dump exhaust. Probably a python rayzer, Akrapovic, or Covington destroyer. Maybe something you all suggest as long as it comes in black
main concerns:
will I have to retune after the change?
Is the swap to 2into1 worth it over my setup now?

Stay away from Freedom Performance Turnout 2 to 1
Whichever exhaust you choose from the 3 you mentioned make sure you pick the one with the longest reach to the back of your bike or closest to right side saddlebag for back pressure. And YES on retuning it, you will not gain power but you will loose torque for sure. I replaced my defected Freedom Performance Turnout 2 to 1 to D&D Boarzilla 2 to 1 with my motor build. Boarzilla was the exhaust recommended by Trask Performance but I went with FP Turnout, I regretted as I lost HP & Torque, now gained both and love the sound and performance out of it.
There are 2 different models by D&D, any motor build under 100HP there is a model to go with by D&D, but anything over 100HP they recommend Boarzilla...

What head pipe is on your current setup? Yes you will need to have it re-tuned, and unless you are going with a full length 2-1 (D&D Fat Cat, Rush Wrath, Bassani Road Rage, Dragos Dragula, V&H Pro Pipe or alike) it will not be worth it IMO. The short side dump systems all have a huge dip in the torque curve right where you want the power...

A good 2-into-1 can do wonders. I have a Supermeg on my S&S 107 and not only do I get great power and torque, but the engine also runs remarkably smoothly, much better to ride that the true duals I had before. As for a side-out system, I'm with the chaps above - they are for looks alone - and probably noise.....

I’d suggest that you find a friends bike with either a quality 2 into 1 or a Fullsac header with good slipons and ride it. You’ll quickly see that your current setup is really lacking in lower RPM torque.
